A persistent, spectacular, nontornadic supercell spun its way from the dryline across the west-central Texas Panhandle, past this wind farm, and onward into the evening. Along the way, it offered outstanding, multilayered structure like this. Our attempt to get ahead of it shortly after this shot was thwarted by a deep flood over an unpaved backroad shortcut, so we had to be content with the backside view. This was the second of a wildly oscillating, high-mileage, four-day Texas chase stretch that took us from Norman to well southeast of Dallas and westward to the Hill Country on the first day, then the Panhandle for this second-day storm, back to the central Texas Hill Country the next day, then way up to the northern Panhandle on the fourth!
