Instant Texting to Other Drivers

I’ve long dreamed of a bright-red electronic sign mounted on the back of the vehicle that one could tap from a preset list that you can change, much like the 6 presets on most car radios, according to the situation. The text could scroll from right to left then stop, and/or blink. For example, selections could be as follows:

    1. TURN OFF YOUR BRIGHTS
    2. YOU HAVE A TURN SIGNAL. USE IT.
    3. IT’S NIGHTTIME. TURN ON YOUR DAMN LIGHTS!
    4. TOO CLOSE! BACK OFF
    5. YOUR MUSIC SUCKS. TURN IT DOWN.
    6. EYES ON THE ROAD – NOT YOUR PHONE

…with 7-12 (the sign version of “FM2”) being all of the above in Spanish. Imagine the possibilities. Of course, such a sign might get shot to pieces in Houston or Detroit, along with the driver. But it’s fun to consider the humble pie such “texting” would serve to some people who sorely deserve it.
