Elke, I am so sorry to hear about Sigrid -- it came as a major shock when I heard about her. If there's anything I can do please let me know -- please stay in touch -- You are all in my prayers -- she was one of my true heroes and I will miss her something fierce -- Sincerely Michael

Hi Roger,

I took a look at the 12z/00z upper-air charts from around that time and it appears as though weak/moderate warm advecion was occuring at mid levels of the troposphere across the Southern Plains region. Perhaps the warm advection played a key role in the thunderstorm's premature demise? Plus the turkey-neck updraft shot that you posted just looks like something you'd expect to see when a layer of potentially warmer air at mid levels permeates the body of a mature thunderstorm. What do you think Roger?
